Student Brings Home 1st & 2nd Places

Orlando, Florida, July 5th – 6th: Jared Lee, an adult 6th kyu level green belt student/assistant instructor from Genbu-Kai Florida, traveled to Orlando to compete in the ISKA (International Sport Karate Association) U.S. Open tournament.

Lee captured 1st place in kata (forms), and 2nd place in kumite (sparring).

Lee wishes to thank Sensei Keith Moore of Genbu-Kai Florida, and the late John Baranoski of the Florida Karate Academy for their great training afforded him during his tenure at both Dojos.

Lee currently trains at Genbu-Kai Florida learning the Shito-Ryu Karate style, including Okinawan Kobudo (weapons) and Batto-Do (the Japanese art of drawing and cutting with the katana).

Jared admits he truly enjoys Genbu-Kai Florida’s curriculum and encourages anyone who wishes to learn from a lineage which directly involves the legendary Fumio Demura, to come and check out and/or try a class.
